Earth Day 2020

Dear Mother Earth, I love you. This year as we celebrate the 50th Earth Day, it feels unlike any other. Instead of being out hiking on trails, lounging on a beach or swimming in a lake a majority of the human race is experiencing isolation working towards flattening the curve for Covid-19 cases. However, I can’t help but wonder, was Covid-19 sent in order to protect you and flatten the curve in regard to pollution?

On April 3, 2020, Madeleine Stone wrote a fascinating article in National Geographic, writing that Carbon emissions are falling sharply due to coronavirus. Scientific American points out that history suggests global disasters, particularly those with major effects on the economy, tend to drive a temporary decline in carbon emissions.

Since the beginning of time, the human race has taken advantage of the gifts that you offer. We’ve done the unthinkable by polluting you with toxic waste and we’ve caused catastrophic damage to your oceans. When I think about it, it breaks my being.

Earth, please don’t give up on us. Help us all to see the error in our ways and progress in a way that is more beneficial for you.

Due to the Covid-19 quarantine, we’ve decided to create a playlist on Youtube of our favorite videos. From documentary shorts such as “Wood: A Family Affair” and “Welcome to the UFO Welcome Center” to “Exploring Abandoned Video Stores” and isolated beaches. Click on the link below.
