Since 2011, it’s been a tradition for us at Operation Adventure to bring in the New Year by getting outdoors and hiking. It is after all our belief that how you start off the New Year is how you will end it, which is why it’s important to bring in the New Year with a healthy start. Led by America’s State Parks, on New Years Day parks nation wide will work together to encourage people to participate in the “First Day Hike”. These guided hikes are free and open to the public. This was the first hike I took since being diagnosed with leukemia in 2018. Naturally I had to document it! Tracked by my apple watch we hiked 2.74 miles on the Little Gap Trail at Dreher Island State Park. Shot on an iPhone Xs – 30 fps.
