This was another novel that I was extremely intimidated of due to it being based in Greek Mythology. However, Madeline Miller made this story and all of the characters so incredible accessible. I absolutely loved every minute of this read. Also allow me to admit my ignorance because I totally never understood the expression “Achilles’ heel” until after reading this book.
Words really can’t describe how I felt regarding the love and dynamics between Achilles and Patroclus. It immediately grabbed me and I was along the ride for all of it. I want more… And when they are mentioned briefly in Circe my heart nearly jumped out of my chest. That said after reading this novel I totally went and bought the Penguins Classics The Iliad.
