If its not obvious I love a good mystery thriller; however, could I say I love a good mystery when I had never read Sherlock? Clearly I felt like a poser so I began to plot.

Google Search… What is the first Sherlock Holmes story?
Google Search… How many stories did Arthur Conan Doyle write about Sherlock?
Google Search… What is the chronological order of the Sherlock Holmes text?

Cut to reading “A Study in Scarlet” and then “The Sign of the Four”. And then venturing out to my local @barnesandnoble to pick up this beautiful copy of The Complete Sherlock Holmes collection by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Isn’t the edition absolutely gorgeous? It definitely belongs in a library as grand as the one at Biltmore. Also fun fact in 1980, Don Knotts and Tim Conway parodied Sherlock and Dr. Watson in the film “The Private Eyes”, which was filmed at The Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina. Knotts’ character Inspector Winship wears the trademark Sherlock deerstalker hat but smokes a cigar instead of a pipe. Both, however, are detectives for an official law enforcement body whereas Holmes and Watson were both in the private sector. The Tart character is also a doctor like Watson.
